Just chiming in to say that I lived in Atlanta for 9 years and I only made it to Savannah for one weekend that whole time. 
I did get the closest I’ve ever been to swimming with dolphins there though, off Tybee. There was a group of them feeding on fish only about 20 yards away from me while I bobbed in the breakers. I don’t remember which holiday weekend it was, Memorial Day or Labor Day perhaps, as far as the time of year.
