Not necessarily the five best things I own, but the five I’m fondest of that’d be the hardest to replace.

Plus, my entertainment center is right by the windows on the front porch. I could just open the window and toss them all gently into the bushes. You’re making me have nightmares about having only 5 CD’s!

Sheesh, and all the flack I get for having somewheres 'round 1000 … especially when my friends help me move …

I’d be more inclined to pick the ones that are long out of print and probably ain’t comin’ back, than the ones that are my current favorites. (Once you get past a certain number, you only have “current favorites”. A good pang of nostalgia can send me into a room with headphones for a few days…)

I have about 1100 CDs, so the five I’d take would be (this is really hard, so I’m just naming five off the top of my head) –

  1. Marillion - Afraid of Sunlight
  2. The Beatles - Abbey Road
  3. Grey Eye Glances - Eventide
  4. U2 - Achtung Baby
  5. Radiohead - The Bends

SoMoMom, where do you live?

CD’s are cheap! i have abuot 80 DVD’s that need saving! I know I’d grab my Spinal Tap DVD, I paid $91 for it on ebay…

  1. Reverend Horton Heat ‘Spend a night in the box’
  2. Lagwagon ‘Let’s talk about feelings’
  3. the Dickies ‘Live in London…Locked and loaded’
  4. Face to Face ‘Live’
  5. Rush ‘Different Stages’

This thread got me thinking…it’s not just your average “what are your five favourite albums?” thread, but rather “what five albums would you not be able to replace?” thread.

AFAIK these five of my favourites are out of print or deleted:

  1. The Super Friendz, Mock Up, Scale Down
  2. The Super Friendz, Slide Show
  3. Eric’s Trip, Long Day’s Ride 'Till Tomorrow
  4. Suckerpunch, Carols from the Canyon
  5. Elevator to Hell, Parts 1-3

I’m not saying everything else I have could be replaced (cheaply, at least), but I’d really hate to see these ones go.

Sucks not to have a music CD to grab.

I do, though, have 2 gigs of MP3s I could put onto CDs . . . but this is 500 songs or so. I have them listed semi-alphabetically on my playlist. I’m not going to go through them all. Not even for all you beautiful people.

Gotta say, though, that a thing of classical music, hits of 70s, hits of the 50s, hits of 60s, and hits of this decade would be it.
