I think you mean Operation OVERLORD. NEPTUNE was the naval element of the Normandy invasion.
Yes, but the main component of Operation Neptune was the amphibious invasion on June 6th which I think is more appropriate then calling it “D-Day” since every allied invasion has that designation. Since the movie includes a plot beyond June 6, I would have to agree that Operation Overlord would have probably been better.
