I have recently realized that I can’t save any PS1 games on my PS2. I don’t necesssarily care, but my son recently got a game that has about an hour and a half of indroductory material if you have just started the game. All I really want is to be able to play the game without going through the personality test that goes with the intro. (You think I’m being hyberbolic don’t you!?)
Anyway, the question is: Is this a problem on my end? Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
(Yes, I have tried every PS1 game I have and none of them recognize the PS2 memory cards.)
(I also realize the PS1 doesn’t really exist as they were just playstaions back then.)
Looks like PS1 games can’t recognize PS2 memory cards. However you can apparently transfer over your PS1 saved files onto your PS2 cards. I’m not entirely sure what this will get you. My google-fu is only so strong. Can your PS2 recognize PS1 memory cards? If so, then you could probably use that and just keep two separate memory cards.
Hmmm… all signs seem to point to using PS1 memory card with the PS2 and saving to that. I don’t even have a PS1, much less a PS2, so I really have no way of backing any of this up except for
sorta cite 1 Note, this one is about using mod chips. I don’t condone any illegal behavior. It just has some relevant information down the page.
sorta cite 2 Note, some sort of PS forum.
Buy a PSI memory cardand save to it. This is what I do with the earlier Final Fantasy iterations and other older games on my PSII. The card is cheap and the PSII will recognize it.
You have to have a PS One memory card plugged in. I do, and I saved FFVII last night without a problem.
Seconded, buy a PS1 memory card. Since PS1s and PS1 games are still being sold, you can find them everywhere. I keep a 1 card and a 2 card in my PS2 all the time.
