Saving water by sharing shower?

How do you lather up with the water turned off? I find that I need water for lathering.

I can just picture Cecil pitch this one to his aides.

Get yourself wet, turn off the water, then lather.

ETA: Then turn on the water again and rinse.

Sarah Silverman: “I took a shower with my boyfriend. Ladies, I guarantee you if you take a shower with your boyfriend by the time you step out of that shower your breasts will be sparkling clean.”

Wait, wait… Are you lathering by rubbing the soap directly against your body? I generally rub the soap between my wet hands to generate lather, and then rub the lather against parts of my body. Which I don’t think works without re-wetting my hands in between parts (though I confess I haven’t tried it).

Since I don’t have a switch at my shower head, turning off the water mid-shower would also require getting the temperature just right again, which would be a pain, but that’s a separate issue.

Mostly with the soap, but it works ok with just wet hands. You just get a denser coating of soap on your hands, but there’s just as much soap there whether or not it seems bubbly. I don’t like the shower temperature part either, so I just want to get the shower over with quickly and use even less water. Normally I just take a regular shower though.
