Say something incomprehensible in the jargon of your industry!

“I’m looking at the gray box and the geometry is screwing the cadence of the third set-up. I think the LODs are breaking the LOS. Tell the scripters to throw in some bounding volumes so I can finish the progression.”
Videogame development.

"I’m playing through the rough version of the game and there’s a problem with how this level has been constructed. The bad guys aren’t attacking the way they’re supposed to. I think it’s because the software that checks if they can see me is using the wrong data. Tell the level designers to block that area off so I can keep testing to make sure that the game is winnable.
The FLK is FOS so he’s gonna need a triple-H.

The Funny Looking Kid is Full Of Shit, so he’s gonna need an enema (HHH = High, Hot & Helluvalot)

Bitches, please . . .

Richardson, Ch(ief) Just(ice) of C(ommon) Bench at the Assizes at Salisbury in Summer 1631. There was an assault by a prisoner there condemned for felony; who, following his condemnation, threw a brickbat at the said Justice, which narrowly missed. And for this, an indictment was immediately drawn by Noy against the prisoner, and his right hand was cut off and fastened to the gibbet, on which he himself was immediately hanged in the presence of the Court.

OK, that’s a nearly 400 year old case report. Surely, it’s gotten better since, no?

As near as I can tell, Plaintiffs appeal the dismissal of their complaint against certain defendants.

No. (The above quote is just one sentence, by the way.)

Except that it’s not incomprehensible because of jargon. Most of the words in that massive sentence are perfectly understandable to a non-lawyer. It’s incomprehensible because the syntax is so convoluted, which is a different thing … .

OK, Word is not a true supported format, but you can export as Word by generating a mockup and save as RTF then open it in a raw text editor, select all and copy; then create a calcfield defined as the RTF as boilerplate string, but cut it with ampersands wherever a field value belongs and replace the textstring with the field reference. Then all you have to do is show all, omit, show omitted, and export as tab delim with an .rtf extension.

Our Idol bookends were preempted this week so we need a makegood. If the makegood spot doesn’t run internally, we may not post. We might be able to get some n/c spots to run in Late Fringe, and maybe some sponsorship billboards in the early news to help make up some of the missed weight.

I take no pleasure in having understood this perfectly.:frowning:

Everybody hates Symphony, so we’re probably going to stick with Horizon until we can’t and then we’ll bid for ILS’es.

Have you seen that p-slip I wrote that Cutter number on?

We can’t proceed with the SA2 audit because the SA1 nonconformance against element 8.2.2 wasn’t resolved with regards to establishing a corrective action plan that would ensure verifiable audit records, n accordance with the definition in 9000:2005, would be created in future audits.

Honey, the @#&%#$@ toilet’s plugged up again.

“We need a LYBUNT and SYBUNT list for the phonathon, CSZ all phones, and can you run the pyramid off the Cashboard too?”

“We need a list of people who gave last year but not this year, and a list of people who gave some time in the past but not last year or this year, for our annual phone appeal. Put in city, state and ZIP Code but don’t bother with street address, and give me all their known phone numbers (home, cell, work, etc.). Also, run the pyramid report (list of number and amount of gifts at specified giving levels) from the program put together by Duke (yep, me, my jargon is spreading).”

We can’t run these 12-up because they bleed and there won’t be any gripper.

If I couldn’t explain to the guy I was working with for over a year so he understood it I don’t think I can explain it here, but it has to do with running multiple copies on one plate for printing to save press time.

There’s an LBJ at 10 o’clock in that strangler, near the TK. It has the jizz of a Bananaquit.

There’s a little brown job (bird) at the 10 o’clock position in that strangler fig tree, near that Tropical Kingbird. It has the general impression of size and shape of a small bird called a Bananaquit.

The Gerbers passed DRC, but the PCBs have a pad to flood short on the BGA in the area around U56.

You guys messed up my printed circuit board.

Let’s do an Iron Butterfly.

IRON BUTTERFLY SPREAD:

An option spread composed of calls and puts, with long options and short options at three different strikes. The options are all on the same stock and of the same expiration, with the quantity of long options and the quantity of short options netting to zero. The strikes are equidistant from each other. An iron butterfly can be seen as a straddle at the middle strike and a strangle at the outer strikes. For example, a long 50/60/70 iron butterfly is long 150 put, short 160 call, short 160 put, and long 170 call. It’s important to understand that you buy an iron butterfly for a credit, that is, you take money in when you buy it.

Look, when you dump the bulldog, don’t mark them as Run! If you do, they can’t alter or kill before the 5-star without CRO authority (which I’m not giving them!) even though it’s before deadline. Are you dumping using Opalis or the gui?

Area 23 is a totally not so stubby area.

Put an ND6 on the 235 with the 4-1 on the Libra and shoot it at an 8.

So the PTP’s P&S’d him, but the A/A is demanding an AME - of course he’s proposing only app docs so we may have to get a PQME.
