Say something that is true to a person in 1985 that will make you sound like a crazy person

The way I remember, it’s “after Christ / devil comes.”

Ozzie got a lot of attention in The United States when he was arrested for publicly urinating on The Alamo while wearing a dress in 1982.

Wait, are all you people talking about the husband of reality TV star Sharon Osbourne?

Are you talking about the mother of television personality, singer, actress, model, and fashion designer Kelly Osbourne?

Ozzy… he’s the portable computer guy, right?

Madness!!

Are you talking about the sister of TV personality and host Jack Osbourne?

A mediocre male athlete can declare themselves to be female to compete in women’s sports.

Somehow I don’t think someone from 1985 would be unfamiliar with the concept.

This article discusses gender testing in sports. With examples going back to 1936.

It would sound as crazy to me in 1985 as it does now!

Are you talking about one of the owners of Bella, cover model of Dog Magazine in 2018?

Oh right! The guy who used to do that reality travel show on A&E a few years back on with his dad!

A short story magazine had to close submissions because it was getting too many stories from artificial intelligences.

I like this one because I think someone in 1985 would totally believe this was a problem we’d have in the 21st century, but 100% misunderstand why its a problem. Like, if you’d told 1985 me this would be a problem, I’d entirely assume “anti-robot prejudice” was the issue.

Yeah, pretty much.

Are they not good, or just because AI?

Moderating:

It’s okay to make a claim along these lines, but you have phrased it in a transphobic way, describing a trans man as “a mediocre make athlete who declares they are female”

Please try to be less hostile to potential trans readers in your phrasing.

And writing as a poster, you’d be wrong. There was quite a lot of press coverage about male-to-female trans athletes in the late 70s. In particular, Renee Richards was in the bed when she competed in 1976 in the US open (tennis). I’m not sure the conversation has changed very much since then, especially regarding sports.

At one point the world’s greatest rap artist was white and the world’s greatest golfer was black!

No wonder she lost.
