Looks like it’s nearly time for me to make the same damn video again, telling people that, no, a 2tb USB stick for $10 is not genuine and just plugging it into your computer and clicking ‘properties’ is not a useful test.
I think this will be the fourth (maybe fifth) time I will have made this PSA. After a year or so passes, people start commenting ‘crazy to think these things are now available and really cheap’ . No, they are not. Still not yet - they exist, but a 2tb USB stick for $10 is still a scam in 2024.
Unfortunately, when it’s being sold through Walmart (though sold and shipped by a third party seller), the scam will continue.
And the stick looks strangely familiar.

I was born a poor black child. My childhood was filled with singing and dancing though deep down I felt different as I was paler than my brothers and sisters.
I spent decades taking cesium in an effort to darken my skin until my mom admitted I was found on their doorstep and was not their natural born child. Due to the cesium, I lost almost all my hair.
I eventually went into the optical accessory business, made a fortune, got married, lost a fortune and my wife on the same day.

Mistake made, several dozen email addresses the email was sent to. So I Replyed All with a warning that it was a scam.
How about telling her to go ahead and claim the money and then to send you a small amount (say $5,000) so you can buy an airline ticket to meet her someplace? In other words, reverse the usual game.
I can only communicate in person via the electronic wheelchair I am ensconced within: one beep for “yes”, 2 beeps for “no.” I am a good guy tho, was captain of a starship for a number of years, before my tragic ahem accident. Only can do the deed with the help of my machine now, but it’s got all the bells and whistles you can imagine!
