For government officials they sure do seem to be a religious lot.
God We Much Trust Of.
Give me your login credential let me confirm if you actually made the payment then I will give you mine to confirm if it arrived.
My reply: Wanna Roshambo for it?
Dear Sir,
Know payment will be ascertained without the MTCN code as embedded with western union direction, when we receive the MTCN and acknowledge the payment we can proceed on this matter.
My reply: It’s that square block. it’s a QR code. Any barcode scanner can read it.
Peter Mosse.
Now the other asshole is trying to claim he knew all along.
There is a fake online company called Violet Cart, they run an employment scam and hire people to forward packages to international addresses. The packages contain stolen goods.
They have a website full of business buzzwords that looks pretty real, it’s better than most scam websites. I’m not going to link, (I’ve learned my lesson) but the Reddit thread I linked to contains links.
They don’t hire through the website, its purpose is to reassure the employees that they are real. They never pay any employees, their “dashboard” that tracks their earnings disappears and the scammers cut contact shortly before the first payment is scheduled.
Here’s the moment when a whole bunch of their “employees” figure out they’ve been scammed into committing crimes.
That website has a “training video” which is amazing. It’s as well produced as most corporate trainings. The only odd thing is the voiceover which is very good non-accented English does use odd constructions occasionally which sound like something written into a scam email.
Anyone else get text scams? I repeatedly get texts thanking me for paying my AT&T bill with a link to supposedly receive a gift for paying on time. The link appears to be a URL shortener and I never click it and just delete the text. I assume that it’s a phishing scam but no way am I clicking the link to find out.
There’s no way AT&T is going to give me a gift for paying on time, especially since it’s paid automatically. I guess there are unfortunate people who fall for it or they wouldn’t keep doing it.
I just tried to go there and got a 503 page in Russian.

I just read that thread. Wow! I think the worst part is that some of them are talking about keeping or selling the items if they don’t get paid. They now know it’s a scam so doing that will make them accessories to the thefts.
I used to get these, but haven’t for a while now. Among the other red flags was the fact that they’d arrive nowhere near the autopay date.
I’m now getting emails purporting to be from coinbase (with whom I’ve never done business). As far as I can tell without opening them, they’re telling me my account is locked / they need to confirm my identity / I have a pending transaction / latherrinseandrepeat. Hovering over the sender name reveals an address that’s almost but not quite entirely unlike coinbase. For a while I reported them as phishing attempts, now I don’t even bother.
That site was very recently shut down but the company is still scamming. As of a few days ago they were operating as Lime Logistics ( limeshipusdotcom), the website and videos are the same except for the name.
Slimy bastards. There’s actually a legitimate trucking company in the UK called Lime Logistics. Their website is lime-logisticscouk.
The most common text scam I get is the one from FedEx ( see the related one from post #27, same thing but with USPS and via email instead of text) where I have something that was supposed to be delivered but was unable to be done. Of course, for a small fee, $1.99 being common, they’ll redeliver it for me.
Will wonders never cease. A scammer that works weekends.

I took almost a half hour of time, ended it calling her a Rundi and hanging up.
About two minutes later, got a call from The Federal Department of Amazon Police. There’s a warrant out for my arrest for abusing Amazon.
I’d like to think you could use Blue Origin to flee and seriously evade prosecution, but …
No worries. Despite verifying my account (which has “my” address), he had no idea where I was when I asked to confirm the address he had.
“The Federal Department of Amazon police.” Lol.
Stop your laughing. They are armed with Candiru Fish. And believe me, you don’t want a Candiru Fish up your urethra.
It would serve you right for pissing in the river in the first place.
That’s what ant mounds are for.
