As if we haven’t had enough illness in the family. I just talked to my son’s widow. I’d e-mailed her and hadn’t heard back after a week, so I called.
She answered the phone sounding horrid. She was diagnosed last Tuesday with Scarlet Fever. Another childhood illness trying to take out my family.
She should be fine in a few days. The doctor is confident it hasn’t affected her heart. (Touch :smack: wood)
I now declare a moritorim on serious and unusual illnesses in my family for at least a year. I just can’t worry about any more people.
I’m not sleeping. When I do fall asleep, I have incredibly convoluted anxiety dreams, so when I wake up, I’m just as tired and tense as I was going to bed.
That’s all I have to say. I can’t even make any attempt at garnering sympathy.
Good night, sorry about all the whining.
M
You’re not whining. Sorry to hear that more trouble has visited you and your family. I hope everything from here on comes out right for you all, after all you’ve been through.
Thanks I, too hope I don’t get sick. Stressed isn’t sick, just stressed. I’ll be ok as long as no one asked for a light. (you know, holding up the world and all, I might drop something.)
I’ve mentioned before I’ve had Scarlet Fever 3 times. I could swear it affects the liver (as my doc explained it at the time), but seem to remember being told I was wrong.
The other thing I was told is once you have it, you’re at increased risk of developing it. That may be wrong as well, I’m just quoting the doc.
The good thing, AFAIK, and in my experience, is that an otherwise healthy person simply needs antibiotics and rest to avoid any damage.
Good luck to you and yours. Hope it turns out well.
