Go to a vet that’s also a taxidermist. Either way, you’ll get your cat back. Sig courtesy of WallyM7

I don’t know why, but “And When I Die” by Blood, Sweat and Tears used to scare the hell out of me when I was a kid when it was first released.

As soon as you discard scientific rigor, you are no longer a mathematician, you are a numerologist.

Lou Reed’s “Heroin.”

Pink Floyd’s Time from Dark Side. I can never remeber when those alarms come in and the end up making me jump.
I didnt like Walrus either when I was a tot…dead dog’s eye yucko.

I mis-wasted my youth.

When I was twelve or so, I’d lay in bed at night and listen to my headphones.Iron Man by Black Sabbath used to scare the crap outta me.
Heck, sometimes it still does…

“You Light Up My Life.” Bloody terrifying.

D.O.A. by Bloodrock. Anybody remember that one? “We were flying along, and hit something in the air.”

“Pure Morning” is a good one, with that sort of throbbing drone-like sound. Creepiest of all though has to be “I Put a Spell on You” sung by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. Dr. Demento used to play that and I could never figure out why! It’s not funny, it’s terrifying!!

“Mrs. Krabappel, are you trying to seduce me?”

just about anything from the GG Allin and the Murder Junkies catalogue.

And then there were the live shows…sheesh. Marilyn Mason could learn a thing or 500 from this guy about shock-rock.

“Lullaby” by The Cure.
I had no idea what Robert Smith was singing until I read the lyrics.
Truly creepy.

Especially for those -like me- who have bizarre dreams involving spiders that are coming to get you.

I totally agree about “I Put a Spell on You.” They play it on the local Oldies station, and it has creeped me out for years.

I just heard a new one that was rather alarming – it’s by Guster, whoever he or they may be – and it seems to be called “Barrel of a Gun.” It’s something about stalking a movie star, and seriously creepy.

Was anyone else spooked by “Hotel California” when they were a kid?

The whole ending, about not being able to kill the beast, not being able to leave, used to creep me.

My older brother’s Black Sabbath albums used to scare me all the time as well.

And the Beatle’s “Revolution Number 9” off the White Album is scary frontwards or backwards. First time my childhood friend and I played it backwards and heard it say “Turn me on, dead man,” we went running downstairs, all freaked out.

Did you ever see the documentary? I think it was called Hate, or something like that.

“I must leave this planet, if only for an hour.” – Antoine de St. Exupéry

Are you a turtle?

The bridge between the second and third verses of “A Day in the Life” doesn’t scare me, but I do get chills as the “ahhhhs” and the strings build up.

“Mr. Crowley” and “Suicide Solution” off Ozzy Ozbourne’s Blizzard of Oz.

Beautiful South-Woman in the wall
from the"Welcome to the Beautiful South " album

try these for lyrics-

Cry freedom for the woman in the wall
Cry freedom for she has no voice at all
I hear her cry all day,all night
I hear her voice from deep within the wall
Made a cross from knitting needles
Made a grave from hoover bags
Especially for the woman in the wall

Not so much the music, but the cover of Frank Zappa’s Overnite Sensation used to flip me out. There was an Edgar Winter album, title of which I forget, the cover art of which scared me as well.

A committee is a lifeform with six or more legs and no brain.

As far as newer songs go, “Polly” by Nirvana is chilling.

Good call on London Calling, by the way. I might add The Guns of Brixton (sp?) from the Clash song catalog.
