I’m missing the lens in my left eye (damaged at age 5) but still have 3D vision with plenty of depth. Apparently I was young enough brain wired around it.
This thread containing the cholesterol info pisses me off too! I really, really try to eat healthily - lots of spinach salads with olive oil and balsamic vinager dressing - to no avail. Mine is evidently hereditary. And yes, the strokes are common on both sides.
I’m 5’4" tall and weigh about 115 pounds, so go figure!
Addendum: I had high cholesterol ten years ago, found during a random blood test when I was 36 years old. I was put on a fat-free diet for two months, which although effective, sucked, because I was cooking for my husband and two kids at the time. I was succesful in lowering my lab values after the subsequent blood test and decided to “celebrate” by having lunch the day I found out at McDonald’s with a burger and fries, then supper at the local Pizza Hut with a pasta dish containing lots of cheese. In the middle of the night, I had to get up and “relieve myself” of the food my body could not handle due to its lack of ability to digest the stuff it hadn’t come in contact with for so long.
Sometimes, heredity sucks!!!
