Sci-Fi action movies?

Equilibrium

How about The Abyss?

**Contact ** is also not an “action movie”

I didn’t care for The Chronicles of Riddick, but I loved Pitch Black.

Also good. I think that was the first survival movie that I saw where I wasn’t able to predict who was going to die and who was going to live within the first 15 minutes.

I adore this movie. It is beautiful. Zany, outrageous, but so beautiful. (That, and I’m more than a bit partial to Leeloo. ) Although I usually lean towards the sci-fi with complex plots and ethical dilemmas, there is the occasional flick that is just so amazing in other ways that I can ignore that one point where they might be lacking.

Minority Report, IMO, was excellent. I have never read the story, which as with most books-turned-movies, is probably much more thoughtful and in-depth, and if that’s the case I’ll definitely have to check it out, because I thought the movie was made exceptionally well.

The first one to discover “the secret” will be the first to die. The dumb blonde will live longer than expected, but she’s still going to die. If there are two people who’ve had a past relationship or sexual tension, they will survive so they can get together at the end. :stuck_out_tongue:

None of which really happens in Pitch Black.
