No, golf and darts do not fit this scoring model, nor does any other sport I can think of. To take golf as an example: if I pay to play a round of golf, check in with the starter, go to the 1st tee and write my name on the scorecard but never hit a ball, then I get no score for that round. Not zero, not 150, but no score at all. With the SAT, if I pay to take the test, check in with the proctor, sit at a desk, wirte my name on the sheet but never mark an answer I still get 600 points. It does seem to be a strange system.
