Is there any special home remedy that ought to be applied to a scratch so it doesn’t scar, or that will help it heal quicker? It’s not a serious scratch, but it is on a face, and the owner thereof is a bit worried.

It’s weird but it works – SuperGlue. Seriously. Pull on the bottom of the cut a little, so that the sides touch, then drop a tiny bit of SuperGlue on it to keep them together. By the time the SuperGlue wears off (in a few days), the cut should be well on its way to healing. Of course, if what you’re dealing with is a true scratch that doesn’t penetrate the skin, you won’t get a scar anyway.

If you’ve got vitamin E gel caps, take a pin and poke a hole in one. Then squeeze it out onto the scratch and rub it in. Works for chapped lips, too.

Some of the fluid from an aloe plant should do the trick…
We are, each of us angels with only one wing, and we can only fly by embracing one another
If you have Retin-A or remova and apply it to a scar (or stretch mark) while it is still red it can make it disappear or at least fade alot.
Crazy GLUE??? Hence the name, it seems. Vitamin E oil is wonderful for scarring, I used it on both kids when they had Chicken Pox, and they got away with maybe one or two scars per kid…

Speaking of super glue, I just saw this story on CNN…

You say you have a scratch on your face? Well, that’s no problem. We can cure you even if your brains were leaking out
I’ve used Crazy Clue too. Actually, it works better on paper cuts, where there is no blood. I would not put glue on an open, bleeding wound.

The military’s been using SuperGlue medically for years, but they probably don’t care much if a soldier scars, eh?
For a while (maybe still) they were using SuperGlue to perform vasectomies: a little squirt in each vas and you’re plugged.
Now if only they could make the stuff so it’ll glue the handle back on my coffee mug – THEN I’d be impressed. I don’t suppose you’re friend’s facial cut was caused by a cracked coffee mug unsuccessfully repaired with SuperGlue…?
