Actually, in article 10 of his rant he states that he did, in fact, send his resume to a headhunter.
I very much agree with his rant which is why I just won’t deal with ANY headhunters. Some are good quality businesses but most are just way too much hassle for the money (free).
The OP fell in with a bad crowd. I’m just a bit puzzled as to why it took so much abuse for him to finally get the message.
Oh well, he should be back later to hurl insults at us. Look at it this way. Dude needs to blow off some steam and we’re helping him do it.
My favorite was a headhunter who pulled me into the big offices of a certain Seattle based software company. Screened me, fly me, provided a hotel room, rental car and meal allowance. I went through the loop of interviews, was in the process of determining salary when they asked when could I move to Seattle.
Move? I told the recruiter I would not relocate. The position covered the Western United States, no need for me to live in Seattle. Hiring VP was PISSED, upgraded my flight home to First Class, and I went home (as he picked up his phone to rip a headhunter a new one).
A week later I get an Xbox delivered to my home as an apology from the VP.
You are aware that there are entire fields within the software industry that have abolutely nothing to do with web development, right? As popular as the model view controller schema is for user interfaces, someone working in embedded applications, flight control software, or high performance processing applications will have absolutely no use for MVC and needn’t have even a cursory knowledge of it.
But by all means, continue with your profane, obtuse attack. We enjoy watching watching pigs roll in their own muck.
Yes, I am aware that there’s other software besides Web/UI. I never said otherwise, but apparently you have the same reading comprehension problems that Voyager does. However Web/UI development is a major component of software development today, and anyone who is unfamiliar with it is not qualified to determine what constitutes a “little specialty.” Voyager has no clue what he is talking about, and both you and he are rolling around in the muck of his ignorance. You should ask DeVry for a refund too.
Apparently, you live in a parallel universe where one man can determine the behavior on an entire industry. No, I didn’t help create this rampant behavior among recruiters. Please take your delusions and shove them up your ass. And this is the pit. If you don’t like cussing, go to GD you idiot.
See there you go again getting all worked up. Your rant had some merit but again it really boiled down to you engaging some assholes who then continued to pester you and then you whined about it.
Kind of like my situation right now. I’m engaging some asshole but you don’t see* me* whining.
You two are engaged? While it’s good to clear the air before the wedding, there might be too big a gulf between you and you should rethink the wedding.
Or is there a bright and shiny BubbaPup on the way?
Lol. You’ve been whining this entire thread, dickbrain. You’ve been whining about gasp people criticizing unprofessional behavior. You’ve been whining about gasp people using profanity in the pit. You’re the only moron here who’s worked up.
Actually, if you had the ability to comprehend you would see that I agree with your criticism of unprofessional behavior.
Along with that I just want to point out again that you encouraged their behavior by cooperating with them. (not sure why I wrote that last line. You seem quite unable to comprehend that obvious facet in all of this.)
Oh fuck no. Again you lack the ability to comprehend. It wasn’t about the cussing. This is the pit after all. It was about the fact that you do it so poorly. From you it just carries the visual of a child, stamping his feet and yelling “DOODEEE!”
Not worked up but on my way to my workout after this post.
She ALWAYS says that. Then she points to her face. Girl needs to get herself a better pickup line cuz I’m not interested in that.
Wow, I was going to do a pit on these people myself and this thread is already there.
Related to this is when you have a recruiter/headhunter say they’ve got a great opportunity and then you find they just pulled it straight from LinkedIn/Monster. How do I know? Wait for it, wait for it. Because I already sent a resume there. Actually this happened to me (again) this week and at the end of the call the recruiter then asked me if I knew of any companies that were hiring that I could forward to her. Yes I sent her some, pretty much companies that I had talked to a week or 2 earlier and thought were just wasting my time. (They’ll be happy talking to each other )
Of course I could do a pit thread on companies that think various techs are totally different.(IE that C# wasn’t designed so C++ guys could pick it up very quickly and therefore all that OOP experience in C++ doesn’t count in C#.)
