Screw you, logitech!

A few years (?) ago, I found a Big Ass Blatantly Right Handed 3 Inch Tall Mouse Of Doom.

For a while, logitech designed it’s mouseman line to suit right handers with big hands perfectly, with mice with a nice tall left side and a sloped right side which perfectly fit non-left-handed-non-midget types.

THEN THE LEFT HANDED LOBBYISTS CONSPIRED TO ASSASSINATE THE DESIGN TEAM BEHIND THIS MOUSE… or something.

They went back to a meek, pathetic, small, unambitious ambidextrous design for their mouseman mice. They might as well be called mousewimps.

I’ve used mine so much that the left button spring is completely worn, and for the last few months I’ve reprogrammed the mouse wheel to act as the left mouse button. I can’t find a mouse like this anywhere. I REFUSE TO GO BACK TO CONVENTIONAL GIRLY MICE!

SCREW YOU LOGITECH OR THE LEFT HANDED ASSASSINS WHO CONSPIRED AGAINST YOU!

My mouse glows. Does yours?

Anyway… the first mouse of ours that I can remember was one that was, essentially, a box. Corners and all. And the buttons were BUTTONS, not these weenie little flush-with-surface thingies. But then, I’ve never cared much about my mouse… except… that it glows. Glows red. Blood red. Fear my Blood Red Glowy UberMouse Of Doom.

Would this help?

I’m right-handed, my hands are pretty big, and I like my IBM optical mouse.

If I had to go back to a moving mouse, I would use an optical mouse. I do use a small one with the laptop as it is out traveling computer and I am not the only one to use it.

Right now I use a TrackMan Mable + ™, is this the big one you mean? If so, they are still in computer stores here in Arkansas. Send MO and I’ll get you one.

My mouse’s breath smells like mouse food.

You want fear?

ph33r my Logitech Optical right-handed glowing-blue-Logitech-logo USB fully armed and operational battlemouse.

Complete with blood-red glowing underbelly.

Sounds very much like the aformentioned IBM. One day I’ll get a windowed case.

Pfft. Mine is an optical wireless. But the logo doesn’t glow blue. It does have the Evil Red Glow o’ Doom though.

::is jealous::

It looks like logitech is starting to head back with some “mild” right handed designs. The one linked to earlier is better than the little ones they had when I was looking, but not quite as nice as my Big Mean Mouseman.

That IBM optical linked above looks interesting. Next time I run by best buy I’ll see if they have a display model.

What generation of technology is it? I haven’t really kept up with optical mice. I know when they first came out they didn’t track as fast or accurately as ball mice, but how much has that improved?

I dunno what generation it is, but I know this one’s worked flawelssly. It’s not too picky about the surface you use it on, but I’ve got some 3M mousepad with this weird micro-diamond-hatched plastic surface and it seems to make a difference.

I’m just happy I’m not constantly cleaning mouse balls anymore.

(insert crude snicker where appropriate.)

See, I wouldn’t mind the massively right-handed mouse if they’d only sell the freakin’ things in left-handed versions too. I don’t want things to be all crappy and ambidextrous – I just wanna go into Ye Olde Electronicks Storre, pick up an insanely comfortable mouse, ask an employee if they have a left handed model and not get a blank look in return.

– Dragonblink, who was an ambidextrous/left-handed mouser until work-related Carpal Tunnel Syndrome forced her to keep the mousepad on the right side of the keyboard.

The whole “windowed case”/“case mod” thing escapes me.

Maybe it’s because I go through so much hardware so fast, but it just seems like a lotta trouble to go to for something like that.

Now water cooling, OTOH, I can go for bigtime. I don’t need it, but it just seems spiffy. Here’s an insanely modded case to go with it.

Mine glows AND rumbles! (It’s fun at parties too!)

Where as a right handed mouse felt nice, I ended up trading away my MS Explorer mouse for a Logitech iFeel because the Explorer mouse was just too damned big for me.

The iFeel mouse is symetrical so it is good for both lefties and righties, but seeing as that my son is ‘pally juket’, it works for me.

Kwyjibo,

I have an i-Feel mouse, too. The tactile feedback was a cute novelty at first, but I soon shut it off. You must also have a slightly different model than the one I have. Mine is definitely a right-hand mouse.

Do you still use the “rumble” settings on yours?

Mine is the basic iFeel Logitec mouse. (I think there is one model above mine.)

The Desk Top interface is annoying. I shut that off quick, but it is great for games. (IMHO)

Oh for the love of … stop bellyaching. I have large hands and I am right handed, and Logitech makes plenty of mice that are practically identical to your soon to be dear departed rollerball POS. The new optical mice are so much more precise, reliable and just plan better than the old rollerball technology it’s not even funny.

Give it up Beefman and come over to the optical side. This big optical has almost the same form factor (and height) as your old mouseman.

To stem your moaning, if you must have it, I have a version of the mouse you crave, brand new and virtually unused in the non-wheel mouse version.

Mouseman M-CV46. Same as pic but with Logitech brand and purple sides.

DIE ASTRO! That’s all just lefty propoganda.

Logitech had a series of mice that was somewhere between full out big mice of doom and little ambidextrous mice. The ones you linked to seem to be at about the halfway point.
The irony part is that I can’t even hold this mouse right because I’m using the wheel as a left button, which negates the whole reason I have it in the first place - but I still cling to it!

Real men use trackballs[sup]TM[/sup]. Logitech Trackman Marble USB with a wheel. That’s what I’m talkin about. Oh yea.

got ball?

Now I see the real problem . You are slowly (well maybe not that slowly) going insane. Re the “halfway point” observation what are you talking about ? I have owned practically every style of Logitech mouse made in the last 7 years. At 5 inches long and 1 and 3/4 inches tall There is/was no wired Logitech mouse taller than the one (M-CV46) I linked at the bottom of the page which came in a wheel mouse and non-wheel version .

I’m sitting using the M-CV46 just for kicks and I almost forgot how much better the optical mice are. It’s so much less precise and responsive than the opticals. Come to the optical side SenorBeef. You’ll be glad you did.
Here is a cordless, non-optical version of what I think you are talking about. If it is not please post a pic of your mouse. I would like to see this huge beast you keep pining for.

Logitech Cordless Mouseman Wheel

Are you perhaps talking about a huge stationary trackball/rollerball mouse of some kind?
