Don’t know if you’re referring to Scuba Schools International (SSI) which is where I got certified. We dove in water of various conditions and depths and my last requried dive was a test of underwater navigation. (I’m still not as good as I’d like at that.) Admittedly, it was a number of years ago, but a couple times (maybe 3) when I’ve called ahead to dive operators, they’ve made comments about preferring people trained with SSI.

Yes! That’s what I meant. I really don’t think my brain was functioning yesterday. And I looked it up: NASDS was absorbed (if you will) by SSI.
So does anyone have any knowledge of SDI (Scuba Divers International) specifically?

I’ve never heard of them but I googled and found their web page, if that’s what you were looking for.
I thnk Novus knows how to use google. I think he’s looking for information about SDI, i.e. if their certification is as good as PADI.
