Where is it going?

I hear all this talk about money being donated but to who? And why?
And how much?

I hear Jordan is donating his salary to the victims? Is this right?

I guess I ask as if Jane Doe is killed she has insurance money that will be paid out to her next of kin.

Will the insurers not pay? Is this why they need the extra.

I ask as when my brother was killed in Vietnam we got a free burial and a nice letter. When my father died I got SS benefits and some life insurance. When my mother died I got life insurance and that was it.

I guess what I’m asking is these people asking for money sound like they are giving it to the victim’s families.

That leads to two questions.

  1. Are they? Or are they giving it to clean up NYC or to rebuild the area etc

  2. Why do the families need all the extra money?

I asked this of a coworker and she said. “Well because the place of business isn’t there anymore.” But if Jane Doe had a heart attack her family would still be out her income.

Because it was traumatic? What about the kid who witnesses a parent’s murder. No one gives him extra money.

It seems like the money isn’t going to the victim’s but someone else. And if so who?
