Sorry, but I’m another one who dislikes your poll options. I played along and clicked the first option, but it’s not quite true.
There’s a big difference between:
I do not believe in any Gods.
And
I don’t believe there are any Gods.
I can state, categorically, that I do not have any belief in any Gods.
I cannot state, categorically, that there are no Gods. I think it’s highly likely, but there’s no way that I or anyone else can say that for certain.
I mean, I understand that you were going for option 1 rather than option 2, but then why did you phrase it that way?
It’s possible that either (or both!) of us have misunderstood his post, but I’m always happy to be corrected.
You and I just disagree about the nature of belief, which is fine. I can’t state whether or not I believe in something until that something is clearly defined.
