It’s last the last week of the regular season. Three players have a playoff spot clinched: Myself, Diomedes, and Omni.
Omni is the #1 seed regardless because Diomedes can match his win total, but not point total. I could exceed his point total, but not his win total.
Diomedes and I, however, could swap #2 and #3… but it doesn’t really matter. In this format there are no byes, and there’s no home field advantage to be won, and Dio and I will probably be playing either way.
The last spot is up for grabs by either Kiros or LOUNE. Loune has 1 more win, but Kiros has substantially more points, so in the event that Kiros wins and LOUNE loses, Kiros is the 4th seed.
Which is looking like a decent possibility at this point. LOUNE has the toughest matchup vs Omni, and Kiros faces the New York Fanboys. And the New York Fanboys practically only have 1 team to work with, because we know the Jets have to face the stifling Cleveland Browns defense and… okay, so NYF has a good shot.
I must say the results of this season surprised me somewhat. I’ve been the leading scorer throughout more than half the year IIRC and I wasn’t that high on my team to start with. But my drafting philosophy ended up working out, as I snagged up some of the league’s best players (Peterson, Moss, and Edwards all together were like $25, IIRC) on the cheap.
IIRC, Ellis Dee was convinced that LOUNE’s strategy would have him in contention for winning the league, but I had my doubts. With Manning having a good but not great year, and Alexander crapping the bed, and Tomlinson being very very good, but not 2005 dominant, it didn’t work out for him. He did a good job of scrapping a decent team together given what he had to work with, but getting those 3 players didn’t allow him to dominate the league.
IIRC, Chuck was my prediction to be the best team this year. I’m guessing both he and I are pretty surprised how that went.
Ellis Dee did better than I thought he would with his gimmick team possibly beating out two legitimate teams.
