If you get a trade done soon, and with the consent of the other person, I’ll push the trade through before gametime.
Thanks Beef. I sent out a bunch of offers and I’ve got my fingers crossed.
You mentioned the part about it going through before tomorrow so they know, right? Or if they keep up with thread I guess. Don’t want to catch anyone by surprise.
I’ve accepted the trade offer, so if SenorBeef approves it in time, you’ll have a QB.
I was going to push you for an RB, but there’s no way you were going to trade Jones-Drew, and you needed both of your other decent RBs to fill out your roster this week. I wasn’t really interested in Laurence Maroney.
You’re already making out like a bandit with that trade with nothing else.
Campbell sucks and he’s not even the starter for long, right?
Anyway, for the record, the trade is David Garrard for Jason Campbell.
I didn’t mean an RB plus Garrard; i was thinking of an RB instead of Garrard.
Anyway, you’re right; it’s a pretty good trade for me, and it gives J_B a QB for this week.
Appreciate it man.
Fancy pants could use a roster adjustment (if you want to pick up a scrub TE to replace a bye week scrub TE that is :P).
Sizzurp’s kicker, Kris Brown, is listed at a projected score of 0, but as far as I can tell he’s going to play.
Philip Rivers is as awesome as Jonathan Stewart is useless.
So far your big trade for Jason Campbell has netted you… -2.5 points.
I seriously considered starting Earl Bennet today over Jonathan Stewart. Gah.
He’s up to 3 right now. And who knew New Orleans would put up 25 this week? I might just get a fourth W.
I need James Jones and Mike Nugent to hold a 19 point lead over Sizzurp’s Ward and Nelson.
Munch needs 34 points out of Chad Johnson, John Kuhn, and Crosby to beat The Brute Squad.
Fancypants needs 35 points + whatever Witten scores out of Bryant, Shipley, and Buehler to beat Justin Bailey.
Curry Porkrinds needs to leave the country and go into hiding to escape the shame of his score this week.
Hamlet needs 13 out of Palmer, Jennings, and the Packers D to beat the mighty Varlos.
Is there any interest in extending the trade deadline past this friday? I meant to bring this issue up at the beginning of the year but forgot. I like to leave the option open for people to play around with later in the year, and I don’t think anyone with a bad record is going to purposely trade away their team or anything like that.
Not a big deal anyway, and it’s probably an issue I should’ve addressed before the season started, but I’m open to opinions or objections.
Why not? As you say, i don’t think anyone’s going to go crazy dumping stars.
While we’re here, i need an RB or WR for this weekend, and am willing to trade a pretty decent QB for the right guy. I have both Matt Schaub and David Garrard, and would be willing to part with either one if the trade is good. They are both reasonably close in season Fantasy points (112 v. 103), although they’ve got there in rather different ways. Schaub is way ahead on yards (2000 v. 1000) but Garrard has thrown 3 more TDs, and has rushed for 2 himself.
Also, these two QBs face off against one another this weekend.
I’m definitely good with a trade extension. I could use a little more time to put together some offers that actually might take. Either way I’m obviously good though. I can’t really see much abuse of an extension happening in our league.
I have no problem with extending the trade deadline in any SDMB league.
I have Vince Young and Shaun Hill to spare. If anyone is desperate for a QB hit me up with an offer.
With bye weeks and holding onto guys waiting to get healthy, this league is just brutal. I think I’ll likely have two roster spots unfilled this weekend.
Another vote for extending the trade deadline. (Not that I have any shot of making the playoffs, and therefore probably won’t make any trades.)
Since there were no objections, I’m extending the trade deadline by two weeks.
Also, I’ll remind everyone of how we handle the players from Thursday night games in regard to the waiver wire. Yahoo automatically puts all players on waivers from Sunday at 1pm until Tuesday night, to give everyone a shot at grabbing breakout free agents. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a waiver option for “put player on waivers at the start of their game”, which means that Thursday night players will be up for grabs after Thursday.
So we have a rule in place: you cannot pick up a player involved in a Thursday night game as a free agent after the game starts. If you’re interested in one of those players, wait until the Sunday at 1pm waiver period (where all players, including the ones from the Thursday night game go on waivers) and put a claim in for him then.
So, for example, if Ray Rice goes down tonight because he is cleaved in twain by an Atlanta defender, you don’t pick up McClain or McGahee as a free agent tonight - you wait until the Sunday-Tuesday waiver period and put in a bid then. Anyone who jumps the gun on this will have it reverted.
Any questions?
