I think Ellis’ suggestion on splitting up the teams is probably the best realignment plan there is. If other people want to do it, I’d be game.
However, I’d also be done with keeping everything as is, so I guess it depends on how others feel about it.

I would hope so, since technically you guys don’t have any players yet.
I’ll keep a list on the Yahoo page of consummated trades, in the Commissioner’s Note, and just swap your players when I enter the keepers prior to the draft. In the meantime, I don’t see this trade as being potentially controversial, so barring an unexpected objection consider Witten-for-Bush official.
Oh, and don’t forget we can trade draft picks, as well, so maybe if someone isn’t sure he can compete this year he might consider trading a useful veteran for a 1st or 2nd rounder.

Is the draft date solid around the end of the month? I just want to get something set so I can plan for it.
I would hope we could get the draft keepers set 2 or 3 days before the draft (and necesarily have the final cuts be before this) so that people can look over the list of available players and create their player rankings. It’s hard to make a draft board when you don’t know who’s going to be cut and available to draft.
We never resolved the division issue. After the discussion, I’d like to see a system where the divisions are started with the 1-4, 5-8, and 9-12 teams being in their own divisions, but a relegation where the top team in the bottom divisions gets moved up one and the bottom team in the top divisions get moved down one. So we’d have a total realignment this year to give us a starting point, and then tweaks in the future. Like an actual relegation system, there’d be prestige (and difficulty) for competing at the top.
Sorry, I missed this the first time around. I need to look at the rosters to see what the deal is… I’m tempted to hold onto him myself though, seems like he could be a big deal later on. I’ll get back to you.
I thought the consensus was that relegation was out. I thought Ellis’ realignment plan was the current frontrunner followed with doing nothing a close second.
I would prefer not realigning the divisions at all but Ellis’ proposal is my vote if we have to swap things around.
If we’re trying to be fair about the whole thing, I say the league champion should automatically be awarded a playoff spot and the other 11 teams should be thrown into a winner-take all division, winner getting to take on the champ in Week 17.
