SDMB FF Dynasty League: Year Two

I’ve conerned the market on young tight ends, so if you want some Finley/Tamme/Gronkowski throw me an offer. I want to give Graham some more time to gain some value before I trade him but the hypermasters tell me he’s Antonio Gates 2.

Yahoo opens the doors in the first week of June.

I’ve got a lot of work to do this offseason if I’m going to top my awesome job of cutting Peton Hillis before this year’s draft.

Perhaps you could trade for him and just cut him again. It would be a grand tradition!

I notice that no one has changed their team name yet. For future reference, it’s fine to do so, but if you do change it (and you have enough space), it might be a good idea to indicate your SDMB screen name in parentheses or something, at least for the first few months of the new name.

Rule minutia:

After this year, should the 3rd place game be a contest for the 9th overall pick, or should we leave it as it, where the winner of the game gets the 10th pick and the loser gets the 9th? Or we could ignore the results of the game for draft purposes, and just slot the two teams according to regular season standings.

I think we should leave the draft order logic the way it is.

Any interest in adding an IR slot next season? I didn’t have anyone hit IR but some teams had to eat multiple roster slots for good players on IR.

As someone who ended the season with FOUR players on IR, I wholeheartedly agree with this.

My #1 pick will be available for trade as I’m set at QB with Brees. I’m looking to pick up a highly rated RB.

How would that work, exactly? We can’t add roster spots in-season, so I guess you would drop a player but he’d be protected (i.e., ineligible to be added by another team)? Probably doable, though with 25-man rosters there isn’t an *urgent *need, I would think – I know I had plenty of guys on my roster who weren’t realistic candidates for the starting lineup at any point and were just there based on future potential.

You might be able to get a highly rated RB with the 1st overall pick (says someone who doesn’t know much about this year’s RB draft crop, and who doesn’t have a highly rated RB to give you anyway).

When you set up the league next year you can add “IR” as an eligible position. This lets you move a player with IR status into the IR slot, and freely pick up another player from the FA/WW pool. If you’ve ever played fantasy baseball it’s just like the DL slot.

No kidding? Well we can put that on the list of things to discuss in next year’s run-up.

Glad I kept James Starks on my roster. Not sure about his future, but Ryan Grant isn’t that great. Now I just need to get my hands on Jennings and I can have the entire Packers offense.

I checked last night to see if Starks was owned in our league.

Has there been a new thread for this year? I fully admit to being way out of touch on theboards and completely unprepared for fantasy football, but I do know I have some serious tweaking of my roster to do (although I can’t recall my roster offhand).

Sorry if this has been addressed already, but I’ve been a tad out of touch. Of course this is all contingent on whether there is a new CBA or not too.

Wow. I had blocked out a whole season, apparently. I thought I was the defending champ.

No thread just yet – maybe tonight, otherwise tomorrow.

FWIW

2010 679/5 for 118.9 points, WR49

2011 635/7 for 123.5 points, WR47

2012 13 games 535/9 129.5 points, WR23

So not a star, but a solid contribution, usually worthy of a flex start.

Go fuck yourself.

Hahahahaha.

I actually brought that up for Varlos, since that original post with his commentary was linked, but if you’re upset I’m sure Chris Chambers will comfort you. If I was trying to rub it into you, I’d have pointed out that he’d have been the #2 WR on your roster by a large margin.
