Every little bit counts, and it’s people like you who inspire the rest of us to donate.
$100 to my employer’s fund, who is matching donations, so $200.
$9648
It is becoming apparent that someone is going to have the distinction of taking us to the $10,000 mark. I never thought that we would get this far
Okay, I’ll bite.
$200 donation to the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina fund with a $200 matching donation by my employer.
$10,048
Special thanks to Ogre for giving me the motivation to publicly acknowledge my donation.
Hurray for Lazlo & Ogre
If either this thread or Ogre’s thread inspired a single person to donate then both are very good.
$25 to the Salvation Army
$40 to the Animal Rescue Fund in Lake Charles
Bought towels, diapers, wipes, toothbrushes, toothpaste, baby blanket and lotion to assist the displaced victims who have come to our county. I plan on donating blankets and clothing later this week.
So that’s $10113.
The lunch place I go to at work has a jar for donations. Today I put in the change from my purchase plus a buck. My vast generosity now puts our total at $10114.15.
Glad I could make a difference.
$520 plus a match from my employer. I made an offer to the local office here to match the first $500 that others put in, all of which the company matches again.
Total $11154.15
I gave $100 to the Red Cross a few days ago, although I didn’t have it earmarked for Katrina. The information in this thread about the Manilow Fund double matching prompted me to add another $50, which should mean another $100 from them.
Thread Total: $11,404.15
Last night, I dropped off $100 at my local Best Buy, which is matching the donation. Every little bit, right?
Great job, Dopers.
Thread Total: $13,404.15
Check your math, Polley.
Um…Make that $11, 604.15 Some of us just woke up and can’t add.
$25 donation to the ARC, matched by my webhost (of all companies).
$25 donation to firstbook.org, which is matching each $5 in donations with a book.
So, assuming we’re tracking all Katrina-related donations, the new total is:
$11,679.15 and 5 books.
Someone e-mailed me this today which may be of interest to anyone who is unable to donate cash.
