I often get newspapers in at work that are several days or weeks old. We use them for lining cages but of course I glance through 'em first whenever I can. The January 12 Vancouver Sun ran an article on Urban Legands. In it, it mentions the Straight Dope column about the woman who had a length of intestine sucked out by a cruise-ship toilet. This happened during Expo 86, aboard a boat moored in New Westminster and used as an extra floating hotel. (Hey! I remember that boat! )
On the next page, in a separate box, is a list of places on the Net that are useful for proving or debunking myths. The Dope is second, right under Snopes. It even mentions our “Fighting Ignorance” motto.
Cool, eh?!
