That’s a good problem to have!
I got it down to 5, and even that was difficult. Great pictures
No problem voting. To select I simply went back to my initial reaction to each photo - the ones with the biggest “whoa-wow!” got my votes.
I found it hard to vote, too. Not mechanically, just picking from all those great photos.
Congratulations to @beowulff who takes the prize this time. Thanks to everyone who entered.
Congrats, @beowulff!
Thank you, and everyone who entered. There were some really great photos, and I am honored that I won.
A well deserved win @beowulff , that is an amazing photo. I can only imagine what it was like viewing that in person.
Monument Valley is one of the most spectacular areas I’ve ever been to. Easily a match for Bryce or Zion.
I woke up just before dawn, and decided to try to take some sunrise photos. I quietly put my clothes on, got my camera, and then went out onto the balcony, and took a series of photos as the sun rose behind the monuments. I was very lucky that there happened to be some fluffy clouds, since the previous day had been totally cloudless. The photo was processed in Luminar Neo, which helped fix the enormous brightness range between the shadows and the sun.
Hi everyone. The next theme - picked by @beowulff - will be “animals”. I’ll set a competition thread up at some point today.
Looking forward to it!
Easy one, just have to choose between the 674 cat pics on my phone
I knew right away this was going to become a cat contest. I’ll see what I can do.
I have over 2500 dog pictures on my phone, eliminating those leaves a few dozen to choose from.
We’ll have to see what the guidelines are, and if pets are included in “animals”. Perhaps beowulff was thinking wild animals? Otherwise, I suspect submissions will be heavily pet-oriented (I know mine will be! ).
Yesterday I was driving home from town and passed a large field that backs up onto forest. For the first time in a long while, a herd of elk (roughly 50-ish) were hanging out grazing. They’re regularly if infrequently spotted there.
I was so sorry I didn’t have my little camera with me!
Well, the general rules of the contest encourage the themes to be as broad as possible, so I would expect pets to be included.
Animals! great I think I’ve got one of those, someplace.
I’ve had a few situations where I have my camera (phone) but I’m so enthralled by what I’m witnessing that I forget all about getting a picture
