Heh, not surprising. I’m going to guess it’s high on the list of most photographed cities in the world.
I enjoy participating even though some of my photos are quite lame. It’s interesting to see everyone’s contributions, and also their interpretations of the themes.
I got excited with this month’s theme. Thanks @Turek , and congratulations on your win! I’m a Road Warrior of sorts. My wife and I prefer traveling on road trips. I do 99% of the driving, and I don’t mind that, and my wife gets to rest and sleep when she wants to as she recovers from her injuries and surgeries. I’m somewhat of a control freak especially on the road, driving super defensively (and yet at the same time, also assertively), so I like to drive. Always have, and maybe always will. Anyway it works for us!
I have to figure out which pic to submit. Or maybe I’ll take a new one. Not sure yet.
So many roads, so little time…
Yes, it’s Tasmania.
I just posted my pic (here ➜ Monthly Photo Competition #37– December, 2025 – “On the Road” - #12 by Bullitt ■ ).
I stopped at the sign for the Continental Divide. An interesting trivia tidbit is that on I-80 there are two (not one) signs for the Continental Divide about 50 miles apart, because I-80 crosses the Great Divide Basin. I believe this was the second sign, but it was a few years ago and I don’t exactly remember.
Added — @Raza , 2 road pics from Wyoming posted at the same time!
How funny! I ended up….err, I’ll add my comment about the photo until after the competition closes.
I’ll always toss in a picture if I have one that fits, no matter that it probably won’t win.
It’s just that I don’t take very many pictures at all, so I usually don’t have one that would fit.
I need a ruling here: would this qualify? Call it a lane (mostly off to the right)? I realize it’s stretching the theme quite possibly too far.
Rules?
In a knife fight?
Bring a gun.
@EddyTeddyFreddy I think it’s a fine picture. Your call.
Yes, IIRC in the past the rule has been that you’re free to interpret the theme however you want. In fact I think we’re encouraged to, so we can have a greater variety of entries.
@EddyTeddyFreddy, this is what was stated earlier in the thread. I think the interpretation is really up to you. If you feel in qualifies, post it. If you have trepidation, maybe choose something else.
Thanks. My problem is, I can’t think of anything else in my files that qualifies. I think my hesitation is telling me not to post it.
To me it looks like something you could see if you were driving down an old country road on a cold winter’s day. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.
I try to post a picture every month, and sometimes I do really have to stretch the theme to find something that fits, but I post it anyway (although I find I generally don’t get very many votes when I do that).
Thanks for the encouragement. There’s still plenty of time for me to fire up an older computer and poke around in the older photo files there, might find something better.
Just be sure to have fun. ![]()
Thanks. My problem is, I can’t think of anything else in my files that qualifies. I think my hesitation is telling me not to post it.
That should settle it: If you have something you think fits better, post that, but if you don’t think you have anything else that fits better, why not post it?
Well then! An archaeological dig into my photo files is ON for the weekend! I’ll have to keep looking.
