China wants only to spread peace and love to the world. You all should be afraid of India. I have it on good authority that Gandhi burned Singapore to the ground just to hear the wailing of their children.
Also, that was surprisingly fun! The lag is a bit annoying, but its definitely much better than playing with the AI.
Do not believe the lies! They are nothing but thinly veiled Chinese propaganda. Singapore was not burned to the ground but peacefully annexed into the Greater Indian Cooperative.
Ya, its definitely crazy doing combat with the simultaneous movements. Adds a bit of real time strategy to the game.
My clearly unbiased synopsis of tonight events:
The peaceful Chinese have been set upon by the unwashed masses of the combined greco-french-indian armies in an aggressive display of barbarism and poor hygiene.
In great French tradition, the armies of Napoleon were routed from the field in the first moments of battle, never to be seen again. The Greeks fought hard, but were driven back to the walls of Sparta. 300 scantily clad spearmen attempted to defend the mountain pass leading to the city but were cut down by Chinese cannon fire (why didn’t the Persians think of that?). On the western front, Indian knights made progress against the great Chinese forces of freedom and democracy, burning an insignificant fishing village to the ground. The Indians have become bogged down in the marshes near Singapore, where an army of Chinese muskets and cannons awaits them.
Who will win? The good, freedom loving people of China? Or the evil and generally not very handsome Greeks and Indians? Only time will tell!
The Indian army awaits happily the chance to cut down Chinese musketmen. How can the Chinese win when they fight devoid of honor? Greece and India will feast upon the entrails of their fallen enemies. Unfortunately they’re Chinese, so we’ll just get hungry again after two hours.
It is the earnest desire of Rome to not get crushed in this titanic clash of opposing forces. We are but simple farmers and fisherman. We only wish to develop our empire in peace.
SenorBeef, is your profile name on Steam also “SenorBeef”(just for future reference)?
I’ve been playing singleplayer for a month or so now and have worked my way up to prince level. I would like very much to join in a multiplayer game in the future. I’m glad to know that you are associated with this site (you’d make a fitting ally). I have the same profile name on Steam “Balthezar4”.
Sure, I added you and I’ll keep you up to date about future games.
We had enough people (7) that it didn’t seem necesary to fill the game out with AI, and no one was sure if the AI would be good or bad, whether it’d be a disadvantage or advantage to have them on your border, so we decided to go all-human for the first game. I have no idea how the AI adjusts for the simultaneous turn system that multiplayer uses.
And there you have it. On one side, the Chinese, who love freedom so much they will force others to be free at gunpoint, and on the other, cannibals. Not just cannibals - racist cannibals. Has there ever been such a story of the underdog standing up for what is good and righteous in the face of overwhelming odds?
Come my brothers! Join the cause! Rally against indo-franco-grecian tyranny!
We had two people call off at the last minute for the game tonight, so we ended up inviting someone else and starting a second game. So we’ll have to juggle both now. Getting the first game finished will be the priority, and then we can work on the second game when people are around.
The next session of the first game will be tomorrow at the normal time. I haven’t been able to talk to everyone involved but we’ve been doing it every Monday so I assume they’ll be available.
Ideally we can work on it Wednesday too if people are available, if it needs more time.
The second game, involving only 5 people who are around more often, will just take off spontaneously whenever the 5 of us are around.
