SDMB Super League fantasy football 2011

I somehow forgot to start AJ Green this week. I basically screwed myself in every league I’m in this week.

I’m up on Varlos by 60ish in part one of the Relegation Bowl. He still has half the Steelers to play though.

I know it doesn’t matter at all, but I loved beating Varlos tonight in dramatic fashion. He had Big Ben, Mendenhall and the Pitt D against my Gore and 15 points or so. I expected it to be no contest, he seemed like a lock to make up that difference. And with about 10 minutes left to go in the game he had a tidy 5 point lead. Then when Gore finally broke free for the clinching TD it netted me 8 points or so and cost his defense 4 points. A 5 point deficit immediately turned into a 7 lead which was further secured when Ben got sacked like 5 times and threw a pick. I had some worry about a garbage time TD to get him back over the top, but we held on for the meaningless victory.

Round one of the championship:

Jules 250.80
Retro $267.09

Of the relegation bowl:

Varlos 224.25
RNATB 235.90

Close games going into the final week.

Vick is an unannounced scratch. I think I’m officially relegated.

I’m not sure what you mean by unannounced scratch.

Never mind. The NFL.com gamecenter was showing Kafka throwing the first couple passes.

Looks like Romo was the unannounced scratch. Awesome. Congrats Retro.

The relegation bowl:

VarlosZ scores 224.25 and 244.20 for a total of 468.45.
RNATB scores 235.90 and 174.50 for a total of 410.40

RNATB is the first relegation victim and will be replaced next year.

In the championship game:

Retrovertigo scores 267.09 and 294.00 for a total of 561.09
Jules Andre scores 250.80 and 254.55 for a total of 505.35

Retrovertigo is our champion.

In the non-existent 2 week 3rd place match-up between me and Beef:

Omni scores 229.70 and 245.25 for a total of 474.95.
Beef scores 209.50 and 210.60 for a total of 420.10.

Ha! :stuck_out_tongue:

ETA: It’s marginally interesting how these scores slot right in between those of the other two games, and how the playoff scores mostly mirror the regular season results. It seems that with the size of these rosters there’s less chance of there’s being a lucky match-up dictated win and scores are normalized pretty well.

I haven’t had a chance to brag yet, so here you go.

2011 SDMB Super League Champ!!!

Weenus.

I’m going to go ahead and throw my hat (back) into the ring for this league. Resume:

SDMB Big League:
I finished with a #5 seed (w/o divisions I’d have been #2), but was the top-scoring team during the regular season, beating the #2 team by over 100 points. I’ll end up in 4th (with an outside chance at 3rd) after losing Forte going into the playoffs.

SDMB All-Pro League:
Finished the regular season with the #2 seed and the 2nd highest point total, finished in 3rd place after my studs all simultaneously shit the bed in the second round of the playoffs.

He Hate Me:
Lost Jamaal Charles in Week 1, mortgaged this year’s team for the future of Tashard Choice, AJ Green, Julio Jones, and/or Alex Green. Shitty 12th place finish, making a playoff (or even consolation bracket) push was not in the cards this year.

Looks like you guys had fun this year.

And by “Tashard Choice” I of course meant “DeMarco Murray”.
