Well, I was feeling kinda clever and smug, but then I read Weirddave’s post in the ‘bin-Laden Lust’ thread. My satirical talents have now been properly and thoroughly humbled.
I wish we could ignore the Wiseacre Baptist Church and Fred Phelps, but we can’t. Rufus T., I think old Phelpsey-boy has enough presence beyond the SDMB to justify repeated debunkings here. The fact that you didn’t hear of it before you came here, and that you only hear about it here, is simply proof that you and the Wiseacre adherents run in fundamentally different circles. A genuine Good Thing, in my book. Hell, I didn’t even know what a Chick Tract was until I came across a debunking/MSCT3K (Mystery Science Chick Tract 3000) Party here!
Hell, it’s back up again. I’d noticed it was down for several hours yesterday evening, but I didn’t get my hopes up because I figured it was probably just being worked on. Whatever, it’s baaaaaack!
Please don’t presume to speak for everyone here. I for one would prefer to see the site kept up. You’re never going to change his mind about this (at least through this strategy) and ugliness exposed is always better than ugliness hidden.
