Well, it’s refreshing to see after so many mistyped OPs from Ralph.
That’s what made me wonder if it was some sort of bot we hadn’t seen before, because suddenly there was a theme to the questions, like someone needed to harvest a resource for a report or study due.
313 posts, of which 87 are OPs in threads he started.
That few, really?
What, you’re not ready to “worship” him?
His questions are amusing.
Remember that before I was stranded here, I was the chief assistant to the senior outside observer posted here on Dirt. My first few months were quite difficult. You can’t imagine how hard it was to assimilate into a culture that steadfastly refused to believe that I was not human. Many of the things you all take for granted like automobiles, clothing, bricks, hot dogs (with or without chili), rain, books and sex were all completely foreign to me. Some of them still are. Rain still freaks me out. I mean y’all regularly accept that an active corrosive solvent precipitates out of the sky without any intelligent intervention or control whatsoever. If anyone here wants to know why the people of Planet Dirt haven’t been contacted by other civilizations I will bet you that it has more to do with rain than anything else. Nasty stuff that.
I thought that too, but just before reporting it I Googled it, and Otkakönmişkılıç is apparently a Turkish first name.
Yeah, but did you figure out sex? Or are you going around poking people with your index finger?
It’s kind of cute when they try to talk like real people, isn’t it? I wonder how it’ll score on a Turing test.
I WAG that the KL in his user name is for Kuala Lumpur.
Well if you must know <blushes>, among members of my species, procreation and intercourse are separate activities. So, learning how to operate my environmental suit properly did take some adjustment, but now I think I have it figured out. Who would have thought that a male’s excretory system would be so intimately connected with the primary sexual organs?
But, no, I don’t go around poking people with my index finger… anymore.

Hey, I know lots of folks who can’t pass a Turing test.
As clients, I take it? And would any of those, by chance, be posting on obscure Internet message boards under user names like SDMBKL or Otkakönmişkılıç?
Based on that, I’m starting to lean towards KL standing for Ku KLux KLan…
There’s a difference between these two. Otkakönmişkılıç seems to be Turkish based on his thread about languages today. He may just be curious and not have a strong background in western culture. SDMBKL sounds like a malfunctioning AI device.
I almost hate to bump this thread, but in my post above I got confused by the crosstalk about **Otkakönmişkılıç and SDMBKL, **and wrongly thought the latter had started the “kill all Muslims” thread that was linked from here.
I don’t personally have any reason to believe the two are the same person (though others might), and I apologize for my guess above about what KL stood for, which was based on an unrelated thread.
Just wanted to say…I was right. He now has banned under his username.
Otkakönmişkılıç is banned not sdmbkl.
Otka-whatever was banned for being a hate-spewing asshole, though (he was advocating a “kill all Muslims because they’re dirty terrorists” stance), not an alien life form studying us through many, many polls.
