Se7en Spoilers needed

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen Se7en. We were discussing it Friday at work and trying to remember the victims for each of the sins.

We came up with what we think is correct for some of them, but we’re missing the victim for avarice, and are unsure about a couple of the others.

So, who remembers details of the victims representing each sin?

Like, gluttony was the guy who was forced to eat himself to death.
Sloth was (we believe) the guy tied to his bed (he was still alive when they found him, yes?)

Thanks!

Pride was

wife’s head-in-a-box. Which, BTW, had to be the MOST predictable ending for this movie. I was watching it and shouting “head in a box! it’s gotta be!” till my friends shushed me. Then they were mad I was right.

Off the top of my head:

Greed was the “pound of flesh” guy.
Lust was the prostitute and the guy with the unusual strap-on.
Pride was the model with the pills and the knife.
Envy and Wrath occurred at the end, which I won’t give away.

Mind you, I haven’t seen the movie, but I did read a version of the script online. There’s also a site for the movie at http://www.se7enmovie.com .

Oh dang, you’re right (re: Wrath). I thought the model was Vanity, though?

There is no vanity. I mean, vanity would fall under the category of pride, most likely, and the model was vain, but there is no separate sin for vanity. They are: pride, sloth, wrath, lust, gluttony, avarice, and envy.

Envy was Brad Pitt’s character killing Kevin Spacey’s character.

No, no… if you’re going to spoil it, spoil it right!

SPOILERS

Wrath was Brad Pitt’s sin, for killing John Doe (Kevin Spacey).

Envy was John Doe’s sin, for envying what Brad Pitt’s character had.

Pride was the model (cut off her nose to spite her face).

Greed (Avarice) was the lawyer, who cut off a pound of his own flesh.

All that’s missing is sloth- that was the junkie tied to his bed for over a year.

Perfect - I return to see what kind of activity there is on this thread and I had 7 replies.

Thanks, everybody!
