Well, personally, *I * think it’s funny that you ignored the point of my post, which is that you had heard of those Democrats talking crazy about 9/11 conspiracy and CIA crack but conveniently couldn’t even imagine armed uprising crazy Republican talk.

Actually, I didn’t remember specifics of anyone’s crazy talk; I simply was generally aware that they were not winning awards for “most logical legislator.”

You cagily said I mentioned McKinney in the context of her truther talk.

All I was addressing there was that McKinney win in 2004 – not any exact quotes from her. I was correcting the impression that McKinney lost, period.

There are some people who are fairly described as “shameful they were elected to Congress” (paging Maxine Waters and Duke Cunningham, to pick two off the top of my head).

Unquestionably negative, but equally unquestionably lacking in specific detail.

Well, let me spell it out: There’s no fucking way a guy like you who just loves getting into the political arguments, specifically loving to point out Dem hypocrisies, didn’t know about those incidents. Giving you the benefit of the doubt here would go way past not really all that bright.

Oh, really. Well,then, since the facts are at your fingertips, what specific acts of violence do you lay at Mr Hoffman’s feet? How many Black Panthers were killed by policemen, compared to the number of policemen killed by Black Panthers? Expand on the theme of widespread approval amongst “the left” for the Weathermen. What precisely to do you mean by “advocating violence”, if it is not merely a pious and self-serving innuendo, devoid of substance.

When Gandhi talks about civil disobedience forcing the oppressor to acts of violence in order to confront the oppressor with the basic immorality of his position, do you regard that as “advocating violence”, if the disobedience is, itself, strictly non-violent?

Did Thomas Paine advocate violence? Thomas Jefferson, Geo Washington? Are you speaking as someone who disapproves of any and all violence, or are there exemptions available? Keeping in mind that the only reason the Sons of Liberty are not remembered as a terrorist organization is…we won.

How many careful parsings and special pleadings will you have to make in order to build such a vapid equivalence?
