Well, that turned out pretty well, Poly.
What the heck! I usually don’t past on topics this busy.
The Book of Revelation was written pretty much about its own time. The imagery made references to current Roman and earlier babylonian culture. The person (people) who wrote it, along with many christians, felt that the end times were soon. Jesus himself said that he would return, and the implication to the apostles was that it would be within their lifetimes. The rise and fall of political entities is earthly stuff, and Jesus did say “render unto Caeser that which is Caesar’s…” Thus making the mandate of seperation of church and state. People of the faith would do much better to focus on other teachings rather that trying to determine what political alliances is leading to the end of the world.
I do not understand people who want this to happen soon. It is like saying your fired. We’re not perfect, but we are managing
Since this is left over spaghetti anyway:

Jesus was very Jewish, raised and probably so schooled maybe as much as any Pharisee of his time. So I seriously doubt He has any interest in the separation of church and state. The culture like king-priests, priest-prophets and any combination there of.
His coinage saying referred to the foreigners who were running the country.
I just can’t see Revelation as Christian lit.
Oh, I’m gonna keep using these #%@&* codes 'til I get 'em right.

Libertarian:
I love you, my Dearest. Thank you for introducing me.
David:
Libertarian has mentioned many good things about this board and those who participate. The rest I can see for myself.
The translation of “Edlyn” is noble woman. My reason for choosing that name is explained on another thread.
Poly:
Libertarian knows exactly what’s he doing. The confusion, if any, is ours. Thank you for the welcome!
Spiritus:
LOL!
Longhrn99 and royalbill:
A libertarian Christian marriage will be an unfolding beauty in itself.

Lib: Marry this one now while you still have her blinded to reality!

Frankly, I was surprised she said that. She has this annoying propensity for thinking for herself.
I mean, she actually likes seafood, for heaven’s sake.
But I am really lucky to have found her. We met over the internet a couple years back, but then that’s another story.

That’s interesting, Nav, as the blessing also was coupled by a curse against adding scriptures to the Bible…at least according to most fundamentalist types.
Yet, the Book of Revelations wasn’t the last book written in what said fundamentalists accept as the Bible.

That pretty well sums up what many of us have been saying about your approach all along, Adam. Yet, you persist in trying to “enlighten” so many of us to your version of Christianity against the express requests not to.
