can a person get high from second hand Marijuana smoke?
yes
Yes, ever heard of a blow back.
Send you sky high.
Not that I would know of course…
no. not most people in most situations. but then if you’ve got thirty blunts in a car with the windows rolled up, maybe. i remember my sister’s pothead friends i used to hang out with used to all blow smoke in my face after they’d inhaled it themselves, and i never got high.
Yes, if it’s thick enough. It’s called a “contact high” or “contact buzz”.
And yes, it will show up in a urine test.

Depends on several things. Is it an enclosed space, or outdoors? The smaller the room, the easier smoke builds. The smoking method makes a big difference. Rolled things like joints give off quite a bit of smoke from the lit end, and since this end does not get inhaled, it has considerably more THC. Also depends on the potency. Effects come much quicker from high-grade than your basic bricked stuff.
In any case, if you feel anything at all, it will be slight and most likely imperceptible. Considering that the full effects of a high dose is relatively tame, a threshold dose will be subtle.

In my limited experience, uh, if you’re in close enough quarters to get a contact high, you’ll probably be in circumstances that’ll let you take a toke on that baby anyway.
I quote from someone who was not smoking but near smokers.
Definetely. I remember one time being holed up in a tiny room with a guy that lit up six blunts, one after another. At the end of the night, I could barely find my way home and I was craving cheetos like you wouldnt believe.
If you get close to the other person and inhale directly as he/she exhales.
We used to call this “shotgun”, I think. It can be sexy under the right circumstances.
Trouble is, it’s illegal. So don’t do it.
Right, mods?
I used to frequent a wine bar/club in Bristol which had a very liberal smoking policy, the place was in an old wine cellar with low ceilings and was always packed with people drinking and smoking. After a few hours of that anyone present would be as high as a kite regardless of actually smoking it direct. Unfortunatley I found that the buzz was really horrible and after turning white and nearly puking on the bar decided to spend less time there.
I thought a shotgun was when you put the lit end of a “cigarette” into your mouth and blew through it as someone else was sucking on the other end.
It’s certainly possible (and sometimes sexy) to get high from smoke that someone has exhaled… the only question is how much of that smoke you’re breathing in.
Um, I don’t know, I’ve never experienced a contact high.
Tell ya what- next time a bunch of y’all want to smoke a few doobs in a small, enclosed room with insufficient ventilation, invite me over. I’ll sit in the room and breathe in the second-hand cannabis smoke and let you know if I catch a buzz.
Oh, and can I have one of those brownies?
Yes, thank the gods!
I had to write a business email in a coffee chop in Amsterdam for an important business contract. It was the only Internet cafe I could find (1998? 1999?). The guy next to me was smoking a fatty and I got a definite contact high by the time I was writing page 2.

Yes, second hand marijuana smoke can get you high.
Exhaled cannibis smoke contains THC, as your lungs can’t remove all of it the first time around. Just as exhaled breath contains oxygen and can be rebreathed by another person, as in CPR.
The level of intoxication is dependant on the THC level of the smoke as it’s inhaled by the first person and the resulting percentage of THC that remains upon exhalation into the enclosed enviroment. Also, as already mentioned, the size of the enviroment has a great deal to do with the outcome, the smaller the better.
You’re right. The smoke comes out in a stream, and the 2nd person sucks that stream in without necessarily making lip contact. You can do much the same by inhaling, then exhaling through pursed lips. Don’t remember what that might be called, but it’s not a good idea to offer the hit to your best friend’s s.o.
Man, it’s been a while.
I was at a '94 New Year’s Eve party (I mean, at midnight it was going to be 1994) at a friends apartment, and a few people were smoking pot. I’m pretty sure that I got a contact high that night. Although I don’t remember getting the munchies. But then, never smoking pot myself, I don’t know, is the munchies thing a myth, or do you really crave snacks while high on pot?
In my experience, the smoke doesn’t have to be that thick for a contact high to happen.
I grew up in the 70s, and yes, I remember it.
The munchies most definitely do occur. Aside from giggling at everything, they’re one of the most visible manifestations of being high. Personally, I’ve never experienced a contact high, though I’ve been in confined spaces with people smoking high quality stuff, resulting in thick smoke. Perhaps it’s just that, being a big guy, I’m not getting enough THC in second hand smoke to be affected.
