<tinfoil hat> I’ve found it at last. The hidden connection between the SNES RPG Secret of Mana and the band Tool. Go here and scroll down to “Wall Face.” Does it not look like the eyes from the Aenema booklet? (Or was it Lateralus?)

Its not inconceivable that the artist that worked for Tool enjoyed SOM and maybe based his design on the boss without even realizing it.
