Would our government stoop to planting evidence of weapons of mass destruction if no real evidence at all could be found? It is pretty important that something shows up, isn’t it?

IMHO, yes, absolutely. No question at all. What’s all the more depressing, their behavior has been so disingenuous that no one but Tony Blair would believe it even if they really did find Iraqi WMDs. Well, Blair wouldn’t believe it either, but he’d claim to.
