So…
You have not seen those family members for a while. Then suddenly we all discover Skype and can see each other live and “in the flesh”.
My question, and I’m not trying to be a dick - just who was not what you thought?.
For me, a SIL who is at least 10 years younger than me - looking really wrinkled and OLD. (No apparent illness - we all talked a lot - all seemed well.)
I am shocked! Really, was something for me to think about.
No point of course, I’m just sort of wondering if anyone else had a similar experience.
A friend has called my landline a few times using Skype. I’ve had it on my computer for quite some time now, but tonight is the first time I’ve used it. My friend called the landline while we were out, so I fired up the Skype and clicked on the call button. He thought I was calling from my mobile, and was quite pleased I was calling Skype-to-Skype.
Woohoo! Free yakkin’! To Peru!
Now that he knows I have it, maybe we’ll keep touch more (aside from email).
Was not talking about the ability to chat via skype. Sorry if I was unclear.
Was asking about how relatives looked when you caught up with them on skype camera after a long time of no see, no talk.
Who looked good? Better than you thought. Who looked old? Worse than you thought?
My example - my SIL, a few years younger looked really haggard. It surprised me a lot.
So…
My question again - on skype - any surprises when you met with the folks this holiday?
No, I got that. It’s just that I used Skype for the first time tonight and was going to start a thread – and then I saw this one.
