Can I contact Administration?
It is important.
Thank.
Each post is created by a new user with a unique randomly generated but reasonable username. We delete these and ban the user.
We see spam for keto diets all the time (we used to get a lot of UK kitchen remodeling ads for some odd reason) but this seems to have no purpose. Why would anyone post hundreds of these over a space of months? The volume is not enough to rise to being a DOS attack but enough to be pretty damned annoying.
Did you mean to leave a live url to your site in your quote? If not a mod could fix that. Don’t matter to me either way.
If you have the ability to hide a post, you could leave a few of those users unbanned and wait a few days to see if they return to do whatever. Right now, by promptly banning these new users, you leave them looping on Step 1 of their multi-step plan for exploitation, whatever that may be. Letting them get to step 2 might be informative.
But that’d ultimately just be trying to satisfy the curiosity you state in your OP. No matter what they’d do if you left them to execute their full plan, it doesn’t have your, or your users’, best interests at heart.
The good news is that if their first posts are that stereotypical, it’d be easy enough to program a script or rule to simply automatically delete / ban them immediately after they post.
I didn’t intentionally leave the URL but there’s no harm in it.
We can soft-delete a post without banning the user but I don’t want to tempt fate just to satisfy my curiosity. On some occasions they have posted over 15 identical posts in one day before we delete any of them, so I don’t think there is a long con going on here.
I don’t have access under the hood of the site and the tech support team is terrible, so there is next to no chance of a custom script to delete these upon posting.
