Argh! Next to seeing Alice Cooper (six times so far) Joan Jett is the act I most need to catch up to! I’ve never seen her live but my son, bless him, did hold up his phone for four songs when he went so I was kinda “there”.
Oh and of course Alice was my latest concert back in September. I went to both the shows, out at the Centre for Performing Arts in Vancouver. The shows were awesome! Alice trotted out the noose again. I managed to grab the rail for both shows and even got a fair bit of eye contact.
Oh, and I finally met the man at a CD signing! I can now die happy…
About a month ago, Sat^Gal and I went to see a BC band called Marianas Trench, who are up and coming and pretty popular around here at least…
I love that they do alot of really cool harmonies, which you don’t often see with alot of modern bands. Really high-energy, and a bunch of really talented guys.
Carly Rae Jepsen (Canadian Idol contestant) and Shiloh (15, sounds a bit like Miley Cirus, but with talent and more edge) opened for them, and tix were only $10.

so many people I like are getting so old…
I’m seeing them in a couple of weeks at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Maryland. The new album is fantastic (maybe their best ever, and I’ve been a fan of theirs since the beginning), so I’m very much looking forward to hearing it live. I only wish they were playing a better venue, like the 9:30 Club or Constitution Hall.
