Love it. Can’t wait for Santa to bring me my very own copy.
Bottle Rocket
…William Peter BlattyThe Ninth Configuration
To put a name to another Greenaway film that is far more weird than The Cook etc: Drowning by Numbers.
Dead Ringers, where Jeremy Irons plays identical twin gynecologists.
I agree with everyone who suggested “Donnie Darko.” An EXCELLENT film!
Also…“Persona” by Bergman is really interesting. So is “The Seventh Seal” (also Bergman).
I’d also suggest “Delicatessen” and the “City of the Lost Children.”
And “Barton Fink” by the Coen brothers.
…and also a German film called “The Princess and the Warrior”
Psychomania
Boxing Helena
yosemitebabe: Buckaroo Banzai and Rustlers’ Rhapsody
Does it say something about my tastes that I’ve got both of these flicks on one tape, along with Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins?
Lithgow chewed so much scenery in that flick he must have needed dental work by the time it wrapped. Kills me every time I see it.
[sub]I feel so break up; I wanna go home![/sub]
Skeezix: Laugh while you can, Monkey boy! (Oh yes, Lithow is the jewel in the crown in that movie!)
I’ll have to see Remo Williams too. Haven’t seen it yet. Obviously it’s a must-have!
I would say “Punch-Drunk Love” was unlike most love stories.
“Adaptation” looks funky, by the same folk who brought you “Being John Malkovich”.
Well ,considering it hasn’t finished yet in theaters, it’s going to be a while before it’s released on DVD in New Zealand:(
Orgazmo
Leslie Stevens’ Incubus
William Shatner, beatiful she-demons, a goat–and it’s all in Esperanto.
And if anyone wants some really old school movies, then Haxan would be a good start (with the William Burroughs narration)
I was SO psyched when I saw IFC was showing HAXAN-WITCHCRAFT THROUGH THE AGES.
Overrated piece of excrement!!!
Re William Burroughs- I’d actually watch NAKED LUNCH again before HAXAN
best B&W weird Swedish film ever- (not that I know a lot of contenders)…
THE SEVENTH SEAL!!!
which does NOT star Demi Moore!
Alas, The Seventh Seal did have an inferior remake Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey
