Selective Service number

I am currently filling out a form for security clearance, and it wants my Selective Service Number. How do I get this information?

They actually have a number you can call as well (I think it’s an 800 number) where you key in your social security number and it spits back your selective service number.

I went through the same thing with my clearance. When I got to that I thought “you’ve got to be kidding me”. As I recall, I googled, found the phone number, and did it that way.

What, you mean you guys didn’t keep the card they gave you!? I believe it even tells you to keep it right on the card. . .sheesh.

I never had one, (shhhh, don’t tell).

I had signed a contract when I was 17 for service and never registered with the Selective Service. That showed them! I was never in danger of being drafted!
