So how should I sell my old car?
I bought a new (to me) one, and didn’t trade in the old one. As of Monday, I’ll have one more car than I can use.
Between Edmunds, Kelley Blue Book and NADA, I get retail values from $2825 to $4950.
The car’s a 1985 BMW 735i, and it’s really in great shape. The major bugaboos come more from age than the low (104K) mileage.
I’d be happy to get the bottom end of that scale, but I don’t trust the messengers. They give prices from $32.5K to $34.5K for a car I bought tonight, from a dealer, for $24.5K.
I’m going to get it through emissions inspection, update the fluids, get it detailed, and offer it up on the 'net for $3800.
Thoughts?
