Semi-Charmed Life: The Lost Verse

Alright, it’s not really “Lost,” it just wasn’t included in the radio version (and in the single that I bought as a kid back in my glory days of the late 90’s.) Here it is:

All right, When the plane came in,
She said she was crashing,
The velvet it rips,
In the city we tripped,
On the urge to feel alive,
But now I’m struggling to survive,
The days you were wearing,
That velvet dress,
You’re the priestess,
must confess,
Those little red panties,
They pass the test,
Slide up around the belly,
Face down on the mattress,
One,
Now you hold me,
And we’re broken.
Still it’s all that I want to do.
Feel myself with a head made of the ground,
I’m scared but I’m not coming down.
And I won’t run for my life,
She’s got her jaws just locked now in smile
but nothing is all right,
All right, I want something else…

It’s at once explicitly sexual and strangely cryptic, almost frightening. What gives? What is this really about? I can see why it was removed from the radio.

They also altered the lines about doing crystal meth.

In the video, the lead singer covers his mouth during the lines (which are dubbed over backwards).

This is the only part that I remember being cut out of the radio version. Not hard for me to remember hearing the “little red panties” part a million times.
