Senate blocks repeal of DADT

Was it 2 who changed their vote or 2 who didn’t vote on cloture.

The two senators who changed their position were Richard Burr (R-NC) and John Ensign (R-NV). Both had voted against cloture.

That’s so gay!

Yes, it got worse to John McCain…

What a sad spectacle to see a senator go downhill and that he does not mind that he will be the one recognized by posterity as the [del]bad guy[/del] troglodyte in the future historical documentaries on this issue.

I’ve got CNN on and for some reason when they mentioned Sec Gates’ name, I envisioned it spelled: Gayts.

Ensign? Well how about that. He’s a C Street Pentecostal.

Time to modify the thread title from “Blocks” to “Delays,” no?

cartwheels through thread

Oh my god! It’s done!

Pardon the lack of columns.

How long before the military becomes completely fabulous? They’ll have to do something about those uniforms, right? So drab.

Remember how the congresscritters voted when 2012 rolls around…

Thanks, Bricker: now I know that the post I quoted, without alteration, was just a sham and had nothing to do with your other post referencing a decade 80 years later, which, of course, should have been obvious to everyone. So now your “should blacks have been allowed into the army in 1917?” question should be read in supportof the argument that gays should be allowed into the military right now. Which I thought I’d demonstrated, but apparently not.

Thanks for explaining that. I was too limited in my own perception to realize that what you actually meant to say in this thread is: “Yes, gay persons should be allowed to serve in the military without any restrictions whatever, just as black Americans should have been integrated equally into the military by 1917, no matter that a certain number of loud bigots opposed it.”

I’ve got it right now, don’t I?

Manchin blew off the session entirely. Went to a christmas party instead. Isn’t that nice?
