Senator Duckworth to be the first US Senator to give birth while in office

Congrats to her and her family!
One more step in normalizing pregnancy and taking it out of “disease” status.
(Congrats also to the Kiwi PM who is apparently also pregnant).

Countdown to Trump tweeting something grossly inappropriate and insulting…

I predict something about the baby missing legs.
Toss-up between he really believes it or a bad attempt at a joke.
Or the first and he claims the second after it blows up in his face.

Congrats to the Senator, but I hope that Dumpf doesn’t kick up a stink that it is born at nine months.

Best wishes to the Senator and her family. Their older child is about three or four, which is a good spacing for children IME. OTOH Sen. Duckworth is almost fifty - I can’t imagine dealing with two small children at that age.

Still, all the best to her.

Regards,
Shodan

I’m in a certain place in life where it’s much needed to have women like Duckworth as role models. I feel like thanking her more than congratulating her.

May the kid be healthy and a good sleeper.

“Senator Duckworth to be the first US Senator to give birth while in office”

Um, couldn’t she go to the hospital to give birth?

Heck, she should deliver right on the floor of the Senate. It would certainly make for better C-SPAN ratings.

Might also be the only time all year anything productive gets done on the floor of the senate this year.

Nah, the opposition would filibuster and the kid wouldn’t be born until he’s 12.
