Hmmm. selfish interests vs. what’s best for the parrty. I wonder which he’ll choose.
He’s a Republican. Duh!
Not gonna say it. Nope. Too much class for that cheap a joke.

I have spent many sleepless nights wondering if his house was rebuilt after Katrina. I certainly hope he can entertain Bush on his porch again after all those two have done for America.
NPR was unintentionally funny this morning, saying that “Lott is not a rich man by Senate standards” and that “not counting his houses in Washington DC and in Mississippi, he’s worth only” a million something dollars.
'Cuz we all know real estate in the District of Columbia ain’t worth nothing, and that his Katrina damaged home in MS isn’t repaired already.
Actually, State Farm didn’t pay Lott’s claim on his house in Mississippi. He had to sue, and they settled with him last year.
Hey! I’ll have you know that I’m a Texan and we’ve contributed a lot! Like…uh…the TV show ‘Dallas’! And Big Tex! And Baylor University! So take that!
Now, now – you also gave the world Molly Ivins. Much can be forgiven in light of that.
Molly Ivins and Jim Hightower, who combined easily offset LBJ and at least part of Bush II.
Good god, I miss Molly!
Edited: Great minds, ETF. Great minds. This is what I get for actually answering calls in the middle of posting…
Great minds indeed.
Damn, but I miss Molly by golly too. I always keep a book of hers in my car for emergency reading.
So its repaired now, and I’ll wager that his equity in the ol’ Mississippi homestead is worth quite a bit.
So, you do want to bet that he’s going to be succeeded by a Democrat? How much would you like to wager?
I can’t recall seeing a denial that screamed “Hell YEAH!” quite that loudly.
Texas doesn’t need to make up for Bush Jr., as he’s from Massachusetts.
Natally, yes. Ideologically, not really. Most of his personality is pseudo-have-to-fit-in-with-the-good-ol’-boy-politics of Texas.
If that is the case, what’s the problem with it? If you and I suffer a misfortune together, are you supposed to wait until I take care of me and mine before you may help yourself?
Connecticut, actually. For whatever it’s worth.
His misfortune has nothing to do with anything. It’s his supposed lack of fortunes that started this thread of the conversation. You know, NPR saying how unrich he is what with only a few mil-- houses excluded.
Arg. Yes. I mix them up all the time.
