Sending Money in WoW

So how come, if they’re all under my account, can’t I send money to another one of my characters in another realm?

No real reason, other than that the individual servers are supposed to represent separate instances (if you will) of the same world.

Parallel universes, if you like.

Because it would destroy the economy of that other realm. You’d have people transferring thousands of gold from established realms to new ones. New players couldn’t compete in the market, it would be a mess.

Yep. This was demonstrated in the Beta–people transferred all their gold to the character they were going to copy to the beta, so everybody had thousands of gold to spend, and it was like life in Gold Rush California, with eggs selling for $50 apiece.
