2 1/2 Men–You can be a womanizing, drunk asshole, but if you have even a little talent, you’ll live well.
IRL, Charlie Harper would be on a list of “do not ever hire this person.”

Yep. Short is bad, bad, bad. If they’d just made fun of his ambition, or his shallowness, I would applaud the message.
There are so many movies and TV shows that have this message, and I hate every one of them. I kept trying to watch Forrest Gump, and I’d get too disgusted with it.
I don’t see Sandy as becoming a slut, I see her as acknowledging that she’s becoming a sexual person, and is no longer a little girl who must remain sexless. She takes it to an extreme, yes, but she’s only interested in ONE guy, who is similarly interested in her. She’s been acting like she’s about 12 or 13. Now she takes ownership of her sexuality. She’s not going to go out riding with a group of guys for kicks, she’s serious about her boyfriend.
As for Mulan’s feminine skills, I don’t know if we can properly say that she doesn’t have some housekeeping skills. She’s just not very good at being a gracious hostess within the guidelines of her culture. She will need to serve tea and food as a hostess, but most of her failure is a failure to impress the matchmaker, and she really only needs those skills when the matchmaker is interviewing her.
Perhaps she and Shang can hire a professional hostess when they need one. Or perhaps they won’t need one, if most of their life is spent on a battlefield.
